Cuts to island flights

Loganair says the Scottish and UK governments should 'urgently' develop a strategy for island flights after cuts to two routes. In July, daily flights between Shetland, Orkney and Inverness were reduced to weekends, and the morning return service between Inverness and Stornoway was withdrawn.

Story update: the flights will be restored in October 2026.
